Take Up Unit Bearings
Take-up units are used where shaft adjustment and belt tightening devices are required, such as conveyor applications. With a choice of locking systems, this cast-iron style is used for standard duty and pressed-steel design for low-cost, light-duty applications.
Take-up bearings are a type of mounted bearing primarily used for adjusting and maintaining conveyor belt tension. Take-up is the process of adjusting the length of the belt and chain to compensate for stretch, shrinkage, or wear, and to maintain proper tension.
Take-up bearing units are used in a range of applications including conveyer belts, fans and blowers, and food processing plants. Different frame types are available, with some units featuring a locking collar. Heavy-duty take-up bearing units are typically made of cast iron while others are made of steel for light-duty applications.
